- Perennial Flower Gardens - color throughout the season
- Patio Designs - Various shapes, sizes and materials, from colored concrete to natural stone such as bluestone and travertine pavers. Paving material should blend well with your home!
- Walkway Designs - Curvilinear or geometric. Together we will consider paving options to fit in your budget and to enhance your front yard design. As with patio designs, materials should go well with your house and surroundings.
- Driveway Designs - Don't just settle for an average design! Options are courtyards, circular driveways, driveways that cross over your property, and more. We can consider driveway aprons, edgings, lighting and plantings.
- Swimming Pools - See my page on the disappearing edge: Swimming Pool Design - Disappearing Edge. This is an option, but designs can be from simple to complex. Pool shapes, sizes, paving (it should be cool on your feet!), and other amenities can be discussed.
- Pergolas, Arbors, Trellises & Gazebos - Create some shade or an attractive focal point in your design!
- Landscape Lighting - Uplights, path lights, accent lights, architectural house lighting, and down lighting can all be used in outdoor lighting design.
- Grading and Drainage - create more usable space, solve drainage problems, design retaining walls. We will make sure that all drainage works correctly in the design.
- Retaining Walls - integrated into the landscape, advice on materials for a natural or formal look. From brick to stone to decorative concrete block...there are lots of options to get the look that is right for your landscape project.
- Ponds, Waterfalls and Fountains - natural settings and designs. Ponds should be integrated into the design so that they look completely natural. Creativity is the key.
- Master Plans - NJ landscape designs for entire properties. These can be phased projects. You don't have to do it all at once. Take your time or phase as your budget allows.

NJ Landscape ArchitectureA designer trained in landscape architecture, can typically handle any type of design that is required. Planting designs that meet your tastes. Color, winter interest, privacy, and overall beauty are often addressed. Sloped properties, whether it be re-grading or designing retaining walls for function and aesthetics. Landscape drainage so that all water flows properly. 3D design bring a drawing to life. The New Jersey landscape design in the above video is one in which we created a curvilinear, two-level patio, complete with seat walls and planters.
Landscape NJBudgets and Installations

We can also work with specific budgets. After all, what's the point of creating a design that will cost more than you want to spend? We offer great flexibility in this area. Plant sizes can be adjusted, paving materials can be changed, projects can be phased. All of this will help to assure that you will receive not only a beautiful design but one that works for your situation. When I create a landscape design in NJ, it has been done in such a detailed way that you can be sure it will work upon installation. It's not just a pretty picture (although it is that too)! Your project is designed so that you can see the details. It also becomes a working drawing for either you or your landscape contractor.
- Hardscape materials are designated with appropriate detailed information.
- Plant photos are provided!
- All plants are named on the drawing, and in addition, I provide plant lists with suggested planting sizes.
- Lighting designs are included at no charge.
- Drainage is always addressed.
- Notes are provided for contractors or homeowners who wish to install the project themselves.
- When landscape contractors provide you with estimates, you can compare apples to apples due to the exact information in the drawing and also the plant information.
We can also advise on phasing the NJ landscape project. Once the drawings are completed, or near completion, this can be discussed. As much as we would all like to do a project at once, this is not always possible! Such things as access for the landscape contractors should be taken into consideration if that applies to your design
New Jersey Landscape DesignHow about hiring a landscaper? We feel it is better to use professional designers/landscape architects in NJ since they are working only for the client.
