Pool Shapes

Some of the very lovely pool shapes I have incorporated into projects have

been rectangles. They can have a beautiful paving design. They are perfect if you want to have an automatic pool cover. Rectilinear pools are great for swimming laps. A nice idea is to set the pool in lawn with no paving around it...perhaps an irregular pattern of bluestone leading up to it.... pretty elegant!

Rectilinear pools can be either formal or natural, depending on how other parts of the pool area are addressed. These pools can also have spas or waterfalls as part of the design. A spa can be as simple as just having it at ground level and walking right in!

A nicely shaped free form pool can create a very natural setting, along with some pretty paving and soft plantings. A spa can be situated to take in a lovely view.

Natural stone used as pool paving creates a beautiful project. Use some ornamental grasses which always seem to look well near water. You can also bring planting right up to the water's edge.
