Landscaping Companies - Find a Contractor

Searching for landscaping companies is not always easy. How do you select one that does quality work and also provides fair pricing? Or one that you feel comfortable with and trust. You won't know until you get in touch with a few and compare. Be sure to compare apples to apples. If something is not clear, ask!

Questions To Ask Landscaping Companies

  • How many other jobs have you done like this?
  • Who will be doing the work?
  • If not you, how long have they worked for you?
  • Can you provide some references? (This is good to do, but of course they are not going to give you "problem" customers. On the other hand, they should have some very good ones.)

These are just some sample questions. The things that are important will depend on the project. You don't need to do delve that deeply when comparing someone who is putting down grass seed to someone who is installing a bluestone patio.

If you are looking for a contractor for your project, here is a very good way to find just the right one. I have used ServiceMagic.com myself.

It's pretty easy. Simply fill out a few questions and send! You will receive the names of 3 to 4 companies in your area and they will receive your project information also.

Once you are on the site, you can either enter your project (for example, "paver patios" or "plants") in the search bar at the top. You can also just browse through the list of services. It has just about everything!

Here are the advantages of using Service Magic:

  • Service is free - it doesn't cost you a penny!
  • Rigorous screening process - Service Magic screens all contractors and even does a background check.
  • Contractors are licensed and insured as per state requirements.
  • Customer ratings and reviews - I really like that you can read what other people in your area have said and about their experiences.
  • Average contractor rating 4.5 out of 5 stars
  • Many, many contractors for all types of projects, including hardscape (brick, pavers, concrete, stone, etc.) landscaping, lawn care, pools, driveways, etc.

Just click this link and you will be taken to ServiceMagic.com
